Job Description

This privately held family office has operated in the commercial and residential real estate sector for more than 65 years. The President will serve as the senior operational leader of the organization, assuming full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the real estate portfolio and the corporate office. The role oversees a team of corporate staff and on-site property managers across a mixed portfolio of approximately 350 commercial tenants and 400 multifamily units. This is a principal-level position that carries signing authority on behalf of the partnership.

Responsibilities:

• Assume primary operational responsibility for all real estate matters across the portfolio on a day-to-day basis
• Oversee on-site property managers for both the commercial and multifamily assets, including the El Centro residential team
• Manage six corporate office staff members at the La Mesa headquarters
• Administer all commercial lease renewals and execute new leasing activity across approximately 350 tenants, with 25 to 30 rolling over annually
• Coordinate with external brokers on all leasing-related matters
• Manage refinancing processes and execute loan documents on behalf of the partnership
• Draft and authorize letters of authorization for new loan activity
• Lead real estate dispositions and manage 1031 exchange transactions
• Develop and execute annual budgets across the full portfolio
• Perform CAM reconciliations for commercial properties
• Coordinate tenant improvement projects from initiation through completion
• Lead quarterly partnership meetings and oversee the preparation and distribution of quarterly partner distributions

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10 years’ experience in real estate portfolio management, encompassing both commercial and multifamily asset classes
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial leasing, including new leases, renewals, and broker coordination
• Direct experience performing CAM reconciliations
• Proficiency in AppFolio property management software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience managing mixed-use portfolios combining retail and residential assets
• Familiarity with partnership structures, including partner reporting and quarterly distributions
• Experience with real estate dispositions and 1031 exchange transactions
• Background in commercial real estate refinancing and loan authorization processes
