JOB TITLE Pre-Surgical Screening Nurse

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough telephone interviews with patients to collect data relevant to their health and surgical history.
  • Review and document patient medications, allergies, and any other pertinent information.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons’ offices, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and primary care physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assess patients for any risks related to surgery and recommend necessary follow-up actions.
  • Educate patients about pre-surgical preparations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Utah.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in surgical or pre-operative settings.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, medication management, and patient assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
