Job Description


The Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for 3 -year-old children. The teacher plans and implements curriculum that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in alignment with Texas DFPS Minimum Standards and early childhood best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities supporting all areas of child development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Observe and document children’s developmental progress and share information with parents and center administration.
  • Follow Texas DFPS Minimum Standards and center policies regarding health, safety, and child protection.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
  • Implement classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensure compliance with required record-keeping and reporting.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience teaching young children, preferably in a licensed child preschool setting.

Training and Certification:

  • Completion of required Texas DFPS training hours related to child development, health, safety, and child abuse prevention.
  • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must pass state background checks as required by Texas DFPS.

References:

  • Provide at least three professional references who can attest to your experience and qualifications in early childhood education and childcare.
