Preschool Lead Teacher (Early Childhood Education) – Upper West Side, NYC

Location: The Learning Experience – Upper West Side, New York, NY
Pay: $23–$26 per hour (based on education and experience)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

About the Role


The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is hiring an experienced and motivated Preschool Lead Teacher to guide our 2-year-old classroom in a high-quality early childhood education setting. Our school offers a structured, play-based environment where children build confidence, independence, and foundational learning skills.

This position is ideal for an educator with a background in Early Childhood Education who enjoys leading a classroom, mentoring teammates, and partnering with families.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily classroom operations for a preschool/2s classroom in a safe and engaging environment
  
  
• Deliver developmentally appropriate lessons using The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  
  
• Support children’s social-emotional growth, language development, and early learning milestones
  
  
• Communicate consistently with families regarding progress, routines, and classroom activities
  
  
• Collaborate with assistant teachers to maintain structure, consistency, and positive classroom culture
  
  
• Ensure compliance with NYC childcare regulations and center safety standards
  
  

Qualifications

• BA or AA in Early Childhood Education OR currently enrolled and actively working toward completion
  
  
• Minimum 6 months of professional experience in a preschool or childcare classroom
  
  
• Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
  
  
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  
  
• Must meet all NYC and New York State childcare licensing requirements
