About the Role A warm, growing preschool in Deal, NJ is looking for a nurturing and dedicated Preschool Director to be the heart of their school community. With an experienced teaching staff already in place, this is an ideal setting for a passionate educator who is ready to step into leadership without being thrown into the deep end. The right person isn't necessarily a seasoned administrator — they're someone with deep classroom roots who genuinely understands what teachers go through, knows how to connect with parents, and makes every child, family, and staff member feel seen, safe, and supported.

Key Responsibilities

Teacher Leadership & Support

• Lead, mentor, and support classroom teachers in their day-to-day work
• Serve as a resource for teachers navigating challenges and executing the school's vision
• Foster a collaborative, encouraging environment among staff

Parent Relations

• Build strong, trusting relationships with preschool families
• Handle parent communications, concerns, and escalations with warmth and professionalism
• Act as the primary liaison between parents, teachers, and children

School Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the preschool
• Help shape and carry out the school's educational vision
• Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone in the building

Qualifications

• Classroom or preschool experience preferred — but not required
• Warm, approachable, and people-oriented — someone who leads with empathy
• Responsible, dedicated, and able to hold the trust of both families and staff
• Administrative experience is not required — the school is willing to invest in the right person
• Ideal for someone looking to grow into a leadership role in a supportive, people-first environment
