
Rise and Shine Academy, a program of Criterion Child Enrichment, provides quality child care services to children between six week and five years of age. Each classroom offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to promote learning, curiosity, and independence in a safe and nurturing environment. Rise and Shine is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated teacher for the Toddler / Preschool classroom, working with children two to four years of age.

Education:
High School diploma and college-level courses in Early Childhood Education preferred. Pediatric First Aid and CPR Training.
Experience:
Nine (9) months of experience with infants, toddlers of preschool age, children in a child care center or licensed family child care home
Communication Skills:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken and written word required. Those activities in which the individual must convey detailed or important spoken or written instructions and information to students, their families, staff, management personnel and public safety officials, accurately, loudly, or quickly. Must be able to communicate effectively. The ability to speak clearly and concisely, and to convey information or articulate an opinion is essential for this position. Must be comfortable speaking / presenting to an individual or to groups. The ability to convey your message in writing using proper grammar is a basic requisite for this position.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills/Requirements:
Must have basic computer skills. Must be able to satisfy all health requirements as outlined in the agency’s Personnel Policies.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Department of Early Education and Care Certification or documentation of completion of DEEC requirements.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Child Care services are provided at the Rise and Shine Academy in individual classrooms, common areas, and outside in covered and uncovered playgrounds. Work environments will vary based on age group and activity
