The Learning Experience – Zephyrhills is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Chef to join our team as an ambassador of happiness!


As a Preschool Chef, you’ll play a key role in making a difference in the lives of children, their families, and our community by preparing healthy, delicious meals that help children learn, play, and grow.

As a Preschool Chef, You Will:

• Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA child care nutrition guidelines.
  
  
• Maintain and track food allergies and communicate daily with classroom teachers to ensure each child’s safety.
  
  
• Prepare meals free of nuts and pork, using approved substitutes like Wow Butter or sunflower butter.
  
  
• Follow all food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
  
  
• Collaborate with the Center Leadership Team to order supplies, manage food inventory, and track records as required by state agencies.
  
  
• Work efficiently within a no-stove kitchen setup using convection ovens, crock pots, and blenders.
  
  
• Support teachers during meal service and help create a fun, positive dining experience for children.
  
  
• Occasionally assist with special themed lunches or family events that bring our TLE community together.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
  
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation or cooking (childcare, school, or healthcare setting preferred).
  
  
• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  
  
• Knowledge of safe food storage, portioning, and sanitation practices.
  
  
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and move efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
  
  
• Must meet DCF and Level 2 fingerprinting requirements.
  
  
• A positive, reliable, and caring attitude—someone who takes pride in serving nutritious meals to children each day.

Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
