Core Duties

• Prepare and distribute meals/snacks that meet USDA and CACFP nutrition requirements
• Manage kitchen operations including menu planning, sanitation, and food safety practices
• Monitor inventory, order food/supplies, and maintain cost efficiency
• Provide direction to kitchen assistants to keep operations running smoothly
• Partner with teachers to confirm daily meal counts and address allergies or dietary needs
• Assist with simple administrative or classroom support tasks when meals are not being served
• Ensure the kitchen meets Georgia DECAL health and licensing standards for safety and cleanliness

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of food service or cooking experience in childcare, school, or healthcare setting
• Familiarity with CACFP standards and safe food handling procedures
• ServSafe Certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain after hire)
• CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain after hire)
