Reports to: Childcare Director
Hours: Monday - Friday: 25 - 30 hrs/week
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our childcare program. Working under the guidance of our Childcare Program Director, you will be responsible for the care, safety, and development of an assigned group of children in a nurturing, positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Child Care & Safety
Maintain constant supervision and ensure the health and safety of all children
Assist with diaper changing, feeding, and daily care routines
Follow safe sleep and feeding practices in accordance with state regulations
Administer basic first aid and complete incident reports as needed
Monitor indoor and outdoor play areas
Curriculum & Development
Implement age-appropriate daily activities and curriculum
Model positive interactions and social-emotional learning
Support speech development, manners, kindness, and empathy
Create purposeful play experiences that build confidence and abilities
Foster positive relationships with each child
Professional Duties
Follow daily schedules and maintain program structure
Ensure classroom cleanliness and sanitization of toys and materials
Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress
Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and administration
Maintain compliance with all state childcare regulations
Qualifications
Prior work experience working with children
Exhibits patience, empathy, and genuine compassion toward young children
Self-motivated with the ability to manage responsibilities independently
Working knowledge of early childhood development principles
