Preparations Manager

(Lao National only)

ALS provides a broad range of testing and analytical services to a wide variety of end markets and industries around the globe. We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable staff filling the following position in Luang Prabang Province Office.

The Prep Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation processes and ensuring raw materials are accurately prepared and ready for production. This role ensures all prep activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with production schedules, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff members complete the tasks assigned through training and development, staff review and discipline when required.
  • Ensure efficient operation of the section and exceed clients’ expectations by optimizing tune around time and achieving quality results.
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and basic repairs of laboratory equipment (e.g., crushers, mills, pulverize) and request necessary laboratory supplies if needed.
  • Plan and coordinate prep schedules to align with production requirements and minimize downtime.
  • Management of staff’s remuneration and work hours through productions.
  • Effectively utilis resource by reducing breakages and downtime of the machine.
  • Ensure all raw materials are prepared according to recipe specifications and company standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring availability while minimizing waste.
  • Promote a safe working environment, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas.
  • Managing the financial for the expenditure, procurement and monthly financial reports to head office.
  • Coordinating with related local authorities if need.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity in the same or related field (Mining, chemical manufacturing) or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and developing teams.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with production teams and senior management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
  • Full proficiency in English and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer focus and analytical thought patterns and observation skills.
