The Full-Time Evening Prep Cook completes food preparation for restaurant service, catering and the following day's
production. This position requires consistency, organization and the ability to complete assigned preparation lists before
the end of the shift.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, soups, sides and other ingredients according to daily production lists. Measure, portion and organize ingredients for line service and catering production. Follow approved recipes, preparation procedures and portion standards. Label, date, store and rotate food using FIFO procedures. Restock ingredients and communicate shortages or supply needs. Maintain clean, sanitized and organized preparation areas and equipment. Assist cooks, bakers and catering staff during high-volume production. Complete closing and sanitation duties for the evening shift.
Qualifications and Requirements
Previous kitchen, restaurant or food-preparation experience is preferred but not required. Ability to follow recipes, preparation lists and instructions consistently. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization and portion accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced kitchen team. Reliable attendance and availability from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., including weekends. Manitoba Food Handler Certificate or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
Working Conditions
This onsite position involves extended standing, frequent bending and reaching, repetitive hand movements, and lifting
and carrying up to 60 pounds. The employee must be able to work safely around hot equipment, food products, cleaning
materials and commercial kitchen operations. A three-month probationary period applies.
