Job Description

Our Prep Cook helps keep the kitchen running smoothly by preparing ingredients, assisting the culinary team with daily food prep, and jumping in wherever needed. This position also helps keep the dish pit, dish storage, and equipment areas clean and organized. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, works well with the team, and is happy to pitch in wherever they’re needed.

Job Description:

• Employment for our Winter season (Dec - Apr) with the opportunity for continued employment in our summer season.
• Assist the culinary team with daily food prep, including chopping, portioning, prepping ingredients, and preparing items for service.
• Follow prep lists, recipes, and direction from the Head Chef and kitchen team.
• Keep prep areas clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
• Follow proper food handling, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Clean and sanitize cookware, dishes, flatware, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep the dish area moving during busy service so the kitchen has what it needs to keep things rolling.
• Keep the dish area, storage areas, and kitchen floors clean and organized.
• Pitch in wherever needed and be a positive, reliable member of the kitchen team.
• Endure the occasional accolades and pats on the back from your fellow staff!

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• A team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and staying calm under pressure.
• Physically able to handle the duties of the position, including standing for long periods, lifting, and moving supplies and equipment.
• Reliable, hardworking, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
• A positive attitude and a good sense of humour are always appreciated!
