Level Experienced Job Location 710 W HIGH STREET - LEXINGTON, KY 40508 Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree Salary Range $46,696.00 Salary Job Category Education

The position will be directly responsible for day-to-day operations of the Council’s child development classrooms, and responsible for providing leadership to the teaching staff. The position implements activities to ensure achievement of curriculum, child outcomes and maintenance of NAEYC accreditation, compliance with state licensing requirements, local ordinances and Head Start Performance Standards.



Qualifications

Education: Masters, Bachelors or Associate in:

Preferred degreeinterdisciplinary early childhood education, early childhood special education, early childhood education, early childhood development , elementary education, child care assistant, child development services, human sciences, individual and family studies

Related degree: psychology, sociology, art therapy, child life, elementary education, nursing, speech therapy, counseling , human services, human services administration or program administration, nursery school teacher, university or general studies with emphasis in early childhood, physical therapy , occupation therapy.

Knowledge, skills, experience, education, abilities:

  1. A. Prep Academy Site Director I:MA plus IECE certification ; MA in related degree with equivalent course work.
    1. Prep Academy Site Director II BA plus IECE certification
    2. Prep Academy Site Director III: BA in preferred field
    3. Prep Academy Site Director IV: AA in ECE plus five (5) years of experience2 Two (2) years of related experience in a preschool setting.
  1. Experience as a supervisor is required.
  2. Experience in early childhood classroom management , planning curriculum and record­ keeping is required.
  3. Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desired
  1. Knowledge of licensing regulations, Head Start Program Performance Standards and NAEYC accreditation
  2. Bilingual English/Spanish may be required in communities or neighborhoods with a high concentration of Hispanic families.
  3. Working knowledge of computers.
