Asset Operations: Premises at TfL are operational sites across the transport network where infrastructure, facilities, and engineering systems are actively managed, maintained, and kept safe to support day to day transport services.
TfL’s Victoria Coach Station has been at the heart of London’s transport network since 1932, welcoming generations of travellers through its iconic Art Deco facade. Today, it remains one of the UK’s busiest transport hubs, providing a unique and rewarding environment in which to work.
As a Premises Maintenance Electrician, you’ll be responsible for delivering both reactive and planned preventative maintenance across Asset Operations Premises assets, including Victoria Coach Station. Acting as the electrical discipline lead within the maintenance team, you’ll provide electrical expertise, while supporting the maintenance of a wide range of building services and premises assets.
You’ll play a key role as an operational first responder to faults and asset failures, attending site to investigate issues, assess risk, take immediate action to make situations safe, and restore service wherever possible. Where faults require specialist intervention, you’ll gather and communicate accurate technical information to support efficient rectification by colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
Working alongside other maintenance professionals and external partners, you’ll help ensure premises assets remain safe, compliant, reliable and fit for purpose. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fault-finding ability, sound technical judgement and a practical approach to problem solving in a busy operational environment.
Interviews for this role are scheduled to take place during the week commencing Monday 12 October 2026.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and aim to reflect the diverse communities we serve. We believe that a diverse workforce enables us to deliver better services and outcomes. Our goal is to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. As a Disability Confident Leader, we actively encourage applications from disabled people. As part of the Disability Confident scheme, we aim to offer an assessment or interview to candidates who apply via the scheme where the minimum essential criteria for skills, knowledge and experience have been met. In some circumstances, it may not be practical to offer an interview or assessment to every candidate who applies through the scheme and meet the minimum essential criteria; in these situations, we select candidates who best meet the minimum criteria for the job rather than interviewing all who meet them.
Across all recruitment activity, we recognise that selection methods may vary depending on the nature and scale of the campaign and will be applied fairly, consistently and proportionately in line with our Disability Confident commitments.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you will enjoy excellent benefits and scope to grow. Rewards vary according to the level of role but mostly include the below:
We will make every effort to give you as much notice as possible, however some interviews/assessments could be organised at short notice.
At Transport for London, safety, trust and fairness sit at the heart of how we recruit. Our Vetting Charter (https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/careers/our-vetting-process) explains the checks we carry out before you join us, helping ensure we create a safe, inclusive and reliable network for everyone who depends on our services. We simply ask that the information you provide is honest and accurate so we can progress your application smoothly. If something doesn’t match or can’t be verified, we may not be able to move forward with your application, but we’ll always treat you with transparency, respect, and clear communication throughout.

Every day, we help millions of people to make journeys across London: By Tube, bus, tram, car, bike – and more. People don’t associate us with journeys by river, on foot or via the air, but we help with that, too. Getting people to where they need to go has been our business for over 100 years, and it shows. We’re leaders in our field, and no other city’s transport system is quite as recognisable: Red buses, black taxis, Tube trains and roundels have become icons in their own right.
Our main job is to keep the city moving, working and growing but to do that, we have to listen. Constant improvements across the network are fuelled by feedback and comments from customers, as well as work within communities, representative groups, businesses and other London transport stakeholders.
But our progress also depends on technology and data. With the future at our fingertips, we’ve already used it to revolutionise travel payments (think Oyster and contactless payment cards), and improved travel information. Tech and data is essential, not just to our future, but to others’: third parties use our data to power apps and services vital to customer journeys.
So what’s next? As well as continuing to deliver Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan’s strategy and commitments on transport, our programme of capital investments is still one of the largest. We launched the Elizabeth line, we’re modernising services and stations and making travel safer for all.
