Develops detailed models of prefabricated building components, sub-assemblies, and modular systems that support fabrication, assembly, and installation. Applies established detailing standards and manufacturing-focused workflows to ensure components are consistent, repeatable, and efficient to produce. Collaborates with project teams and fabrication partners to integrate modular design requirements and resolve model discrepancies. Reviews and incorporates project specifications and contract documents into modeling scope and deliverables. Applies individual quality control practices to ensure design accuracy, completeness, and constructability prior to formal review. Maintains accurate documentation that supports shop drawing development and production planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and updates models of prefab assemblies such as wall panels, bathroom pods, multi-trade racks, and other modular elements.
Applies fabrication-oriented detailing standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with production needs.
Coordinates with designers, engineers, and fabrication partners to address model discrepancies and clarify assembly requirements, applying safety-in-design principles to support safe work practices for internal and external workforce and for customers and end users.
Produces model-based views, details, and documentation that support shop drawings and fabrication workflows.
Incorporates design changes, coordination updates, and production feedback into models.
Identifies opportunities to simplify or standardize components to improve fabrication efficiency, and pursues continuous learning to expand technical knowledge, improve modeling practices, and adopt emerging prefab standards and methods.
Maintains organized documentation, versions, and reference materials that support prefabrication workflows.
Education Qualifications:
Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
2+ years of experience in modeling, detailing, or prefabrication-related work required.
