Job Description

We are currently seeking a Preconstruction Manager with at least 8+ years of commercial construction experience in the DFW area.

This individual will work primarily on negotiated commercial projects within a varied client base:

• Commercial, K-12, Advanced industrial technology industry (data center, pharmaceutical, food, defense, semi-conductor and other critical environments).
• Project renovation in terms of full remodels for commercial clients (historical renovation and repurpose, corporate office remodel and facility upgrades).

Preconstruction Manager will work closely with Architects, Engineers, Owners, and Subcontractors and are required to have the following skills:

• Experience preparing detailed conceptual estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic or feasibility level documentation.
• Must have firm grasp of unit costs and factors effecting costs.
• Ability to prepare detailed instructions to bidders.
• Must have experience in writing and negotiating subcontracts.
• Ability to be active in the preparation and presentation of budget/cost to client.
• Can lead and facilitate Value Engineering sessions with the project team and design team.
• Lead for RFP process and proposal
• Must be able to identify key insurance concerns and evaluate risk for company as well as clients.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues
• Effective participation in team environment
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Estimating Software, Project Management software (Prolog or similar), and Scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
• Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required
• A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
