Job Description

About Akura

At Akura, people come first. We are a hands-on, values-driven culture where initiative is encouraged, accountability matters and good work is recognised. You’ll be part of a team that takes pride in what we deliver and supports each other to do it well.

Akura is an industrial design and construction specialist, delivering high quality property solutions for owner-occupiers, developers and investors. With more than 50 years of experience, we’ve built a reputation on quality, speed of delivery and buildings that are made to last.

We specialise in industrial units, warehouses and self-storage facilities, with in-house manufacturing of structural steel and precast concrete panels at the core of our offering. We support our clients across the full project lifecycle – from architectural and structural design through to on-site construction and delivery. We also work directly with builders to supply engineered steel and precast packages.

Join a business with a strong pipeline, long-term vision and the opportunity to contribute to projects that shape Australia’s industrial landscape while building a career you can be proud of.

About the Opportunities

We're looking for a team member to join Akura as a Precast Operator in our precast facility. Whether you're just starting out in the workforce and eager to learn about precast, or you bring valuable experience from construction or a related industry, we’d love to hear from you. If you have a trade qualification—such as a carpenter, cabinetmaker, builder, concreter, roofer, or steel fixer—or if you have a strong eye for detail and experience in formwork, carpentry, or similar tasks, there’s a great opportunity to join us as a senior operator.

The opportunity to learn and grow on the job for those interested with less industry experience is also available, with on-site training and development.

We're a growing business with big plans for the future - we'll show you the ropes and give you opportunity to grow with us.

Key Responsibilities

As a Precast Operator, some of the things you’ll do may include:

  • Interpreting shop drawings
  • Marking out panels as per shop drawings
  • Preparing cast in components such as timbers, foam, steel plates etc
  • Installing formwork on tables prior to concrete pours
  • Preparing and installing reinforcement for each precast panel
  • Steel fixing duties
  • Pouring and finishing concrete

About You

Skills in the following would be highly advantageous:

  • Experience in the building/construction industry
  • Extensive experience in interpreting shop drawings
  • A natural flair for detailed work such as carpentry, formwork or similar
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on quality, always seeking to deliver your best work

You will be:

  • A team player who is happy to work in multiple teams, with strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Someone who takes a safety-first approach in everything you do!
  • Someone who identifies and embraces opportunities for improvement
  • Someone who aspires to lead a small team - you won't do this on day one, but over time this is something you'll have an opportunity to grow into

What We Offer You

  • An exciting career opportunity in a market-leading business experiencing rapid growth
  • Opportunity to grow your career – we invest in our people
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Inclusion in the Akura bonus scheme
