Job Description

As a Pre-Sales Engineer based in our Tel Aviv office, you will serve as the primary technical resource supporting PlainID’s sales activities across the EMEA region. You will bridge the gap between complex authorization challenges and PlainID’s innovative solutions, partnering closely with Regional Sales Managers to drive revenue by demonstrating technical superiority and business value to prospects and customers.

This role requires a unique combination of deep technical expertise in identity security, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate technical success into clear and defensible ROI for C-suite stakeholders. The position involves frequent international travel across Europe and the broader EMEA region.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead in-depth technical discussions and discovery sessions with architects, security engineers, and business stakeholders to identify requirements and use cases.
  • Present and demonstrate PlainID’s platform, highlighting its key capabilities and differentiators.
  • Own the end-to-end Proof of Concept (POC) process, from initial scoping and environment configuration, including Kubernetes, Helm, and EC2, to policy building and final executive readouts.
  • Collaborate with EMEA Regional Sales Managers to navigate complex sales cycles, respond to RFx requests, and align technical solutions with customers’ organizational goals.
  • Identify the business drivers behind a prospect’s move to PBAC or ABAC, such as increasing revenue, reducing risk at scale, or securing agentic AI, and document this value in executive summaries.
  • Guide customers in integrating PlainID with their existing identity ecosystems, including IDPs, IGA, and PAM solutions, as well as enforcement points such as API gateways and data platforms.
  • Support remote and onsite engagements with prospects, customers, and partners throughout Europe and the broader EMEA region.

Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit

Technical Requirements

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in identity security as a Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, or in a similar technical pre-sales role.
  • Deep understanding of PBAC and ABAC methodologies. Familiarity with OPA and the Rego policy language is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and OAuth 2.0. Awareness of emerging standards such as AuthZEN is an advantage. Familiarity with SPIFFE and SPIRE is preferred.
  • Proven experience with Linux and Windows environments and containerization technologies, including Kubernetes, Helm charts, and AWS ECS.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, API gateways such as Apigee and Kong, and major data platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with securing AI agents, agent architectures, and technologies such as MCP, RAG, LangChain, and LangGraph, as well as non-human identities (NHI). This includes concepts such as on-behalf-of (OBO) execution and agent discovery.
  • Information security certifications such as CISSP or CISA, as well as AWS or Azure certifications, are considered an advantage.
  • Fluent English, including excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional European languages are an advantage.

Professional Skills and Business Acumen

  • Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to conduct gap analyses and provide technical commitments aligned with long-term customer and partnership goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple POCs and technical workstreams simultaneously while maintaining momentum.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across Sales, Product, Global Services, and Marketing teams.
  • Ability to work successfully with customers and internal stakeholders across different countries, cultures, and time zones.
  • Based in Israel and able to work regularly from PlainID’s Tel Aviv office.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently internationally, primarily across Europe and the broader EMEA region, to support onsite customer engagements, POCs, meetings, and partner events.
