As our newest Pre-Sales Application Engineer, you will be the technical heart of our GC and GCMS Center of Excellence in Les Ulis (Paris) You won't just be demonstrating equipment; you'll be a strategic partner to our customers, helping them solve their most challenging analytical puzzles and driving the future of laboratory workflows.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Be the Technical Authority: Lead high-impact product demonstrations and provide expert scientific guidance to help customers choose the right solutions for their labs.
  • Drive the Sales Cycle: Partner with Account Managers from initial qualification to final deal closure, ensuring all technical requirements are met with precision.
  • Innovate Workflows: Proactively develop new applications and workflows in collaboration with the EMEA technical team to stay at the cutting edge of GC and GCMS technology.
  • Outsmart the Competition: Analyze market trends and competitor specifications to highlight Agilent's unique advantages and "lockout" the opposition.
  • Voice of the Customer: Act as a bridge between the field and product management, influencing future designs and writing application briefs that showcase our capabilities.
  • Share Your Knowledge: Deliver technical seminars at scientific forums and provide high-level training for our internal sales teams to keep everyone sharp.

Qualifications

  • The Academic Foundation: A Bachelor's or master’s in chemistry, Food Science, or Analytical Chemistry. (If you have a PhD or research experience in Environmental or Tox sciences, we'd love to hear about it).
  • Hands-on Mastery: At least 4+ years of experience working directly with GC and GCMS (SQ/TQ/QTOF). Familiarity with Agilent platforms and software is a massive plus.
  • The "Consultant" Mindset: You aren't just a scientist; you're a problem-solver who enjoys supporting a sales environment and putting the customer's needs first.
  • Communication Skills: Full fluency in French and English is essential. You should be as comfortable presenting to a boardroom as you are tweaking a method in the lab.
  • Flexibility: While you're based in Les Ulis, you're open to occasional travel to support our French-speaking partners.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
