The Pre-Press Operator, working closely with the Technical Services Supervisor, is responsible for managing the pre-press processes and operating assigned machinery within the printing and coding facility. This role requires technical expertise in plate making, a high degree of precision, and an efficiency-oriented mindset to ensure the highest quality of production readiness.
ROLE
• Ensure all pre-press machinery is operated correctly and maintained according to the production plan with an efficiency mindset
• Execute operator-level maintenance and cleaning protocols for pre-press assets as defined in maintenance plans
• Take proactive measures under the supervision of the Technical Service Supervisor to minimize material waste
• Promptly identify and report any production process failures or technical malfunctions to the supervisor
• Support all facility production operations and cross-functional tasks as required
• Operate all pre-press equipment, ensuring precise plate production and preparation
• Systematically track and record the usage of raw materials, consumables, and stock levels related to pre-press
• Maintain accurate documentation of operational data and resource consumption
• Suggest technical and operational improvements to optimize pre-press efficiency
• Undertake any other business-related tasks to support facility objectives
PROFILE
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent technical certification
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with CTP (Computer-to-Plate) systems
• Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in Flexo plate making processes
• At least 3 years of overall experience in Flexo printing in the label market
• Proven experience with Dupont Cyrel Fast and Esko machinery is a significant advantage
• Prior experience in packaging, printing, pharmaceuticals or slitting labels production is highly desirable
• Proficient in using hand tools and capable of performing tasks at heights or carrying loads as required
• High level of safety and compliance awareness, with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite; basic SAP knowledge is a plus
• Flexibility to work in shifts and/or on an on-call basis
• Valid forklift license is a plus; otherwise, a willingness to obtain certification and operate a forklift when needed
• Basic proficiency in English is considered an asset
