Pre Litigation Personal Injury/RTA (KLS)

Job Description:

Our Client is a young vibrant Law firm. We are
looking to recruit an experienced Pre- Litigation fee Earner/ Paralegal
with Credit Hire Experience to join our Road Traffic Accident Team. This
role would suit an ambitious individual who is looking to take the next
step in their career who can demonstrate excellent levels of client
care and provide advice to support clients through their road traffic
accident claims. A Good team player with collaborative approach and will
have a genuine desire to be involved in the future growth plans for the
firm and support in the development and growth of the department
through marketing & networking activities.

The successful candidate will have at least 12-18 months
previous experience in a similar role, dealing with MOJ Portal cases.
Knowledge of credit hire, recovery, storage and liability arguments are
essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for running
their own case load of around 180 files from the claim being submitted
to the portal, right up to litigation including dealing with liability
disputed matter, cases that have dropped from the portal, with minimum
supervision. The case load with be primarily RTA matters.

1. Dealing with MOJ & OIC Portal matters

1. Uploading claims to the MOJ Portal.

1. Using Med Co and instructing medical agencies

1. Conducting AskCue PI searches.

1. Valuing general damages.

1. Obtaining documents and evidence in support of general and special damages.

1. Drafting witness statements.

1. Recovering credit hire, storage, and recovery charges.

1. Uploading Stage 2 packs.

1. Issuing Stage 3 proceedings and preparing Court documents.

1. Issuing Infant Approval Proceedings.

1. Identifying when matters should be removed from the MOJ Portal.

1. Meet monthly and quarterly targets.

Pre-Litigation

1. Dealing with issues as to why file has left the MOJ Portal.

1. Conducting investigations to determine the prospect of success of the files.

1. Obtaining documents and evidence in support of general and special damages.

1. Preparing the files to be transferred to Litigation Department once Court Proceedings are necessary.

1. Be vigilant for possible Fundamental Dishonesty and bring it to the attention of the

1. appropriate supervisor.

1. Meet realistic monthly and quarterly targets.

Essential Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required

1. Experience of running own case load with minimal supervision.

1. Excellent IT skills to run case management system and Microsoft Office products such as

Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel etc.

1. Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a calm and methodical approach

to work, and a flexible and adaptable attitude to resolving

1. Proactive in running case load and providing updates to clients.

1. Familiar with the Civil Procedure Rules and the Pre-Action Protocols.

1. Excellent communication and written skills.
