Job Description
A Building Substitute provides consistent instructional support within a single school by covering classrooms when teachers are absent and assisting with other school needs to ensure the continuity of student learning and school operations.
Essential Functions:
- Report to the assigned school each workday and serve as the substitute teacher for any classroom as needed.
- Deliver lesson plans and instructional activities left by the classroom teacher.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with district and school policies.
- Take attendance and complete all required classroom documentation.
- Communicate with school administrators and staff regarding classroom needs or concerns.
- Provide supervision of students during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duties when not covering a classroom.
- Support students with varying academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Utilize district instructional technology and classroom resources effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in accordance with applicable laws and district policies.
- Follow all school safety procedures, emergency protocols, and district policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the selection of textbooks, equipment and other education materials
- Establish and maintain professional relationships
- Participate in professional learning by attending seminars and workshops to improve instructional practice and positively affect student achievement
Qualifications/Certificates:
- Bilingual(Spanish/English) preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Must be able to work with diverse population

Days: Monday � Friday
Salary: Daily Rate $190.00, Non-Union
