The Senior Trainer Maintenance Technician leads training development and instructor readiness for the PdM RGCS CLS effort at Fort Leonard Wood. The role develops and maintains training products in accordance with TRADOC Regulation 350-70 and the ADDIE process, prepares and certifies instructors to deliver Operator (OPNET) and Field-Level Maintainer (FLMNET) new equipment training, and coordinates fielding and NET events with gaining units. Key Responsibilities:

  • New Instructor Training: Develop and implement training plans so new instructors can conduct OPNET and FLMNET new equipment training in accordance with the appropriate POI and Training Support Package (TSP).
  • Schedule and oversee new-instructor pitchback briefings on all supported RGCS equipment, ensuring proficiency within the required timeframe.
  • Ongoing Trainer Development: Maintain job books with each trainer's certifications, oversee quarterly pitchbacks, monitor pre-NET rehearsals, and conduct NET and maintenance refresher training.
  • TPF Coordination: Plan and coordinate fielding and NET events, develop New Materiel In-Briefs (NMIB), and manage all logistics coordination with the Gaining Unit (GU).
  • Training Team Management: Manage the training team, monitor and evaluate the training program to ensure it is effective, and ensure compliance with guidance provided by the Government.
  • Training and Technical Expertise: As a qualified military instructor, conduct NET or maintenance for any RGCS system supported by the program, providing technical expertise across supported systems.
  • Global Deployment: Be prepared to travel or deploy to CONUS and OCONUS locations as necessary to support mission requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain at least a Secret level security clearance.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience since 2000 in the maintenance and training of fielded military equipment.
  • At least two (2) years serving as a certified military equipment instructor, with completion of an approved instructor course such as FIFC, ABIC, or ITC.
  • Extensive experience in military training and technical support, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective training programs.
  • Working knowledge of TRADOC Regulation 350-70 and the ADDIE instructional-design process.
  • Proficiency in conducting and teaching technical inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of complex systems.
  • Capable of teaching, coaching, and mentoring experienced and inexperienced instructors to be better instructors.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with military personnel and leadership.
