POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Pre-Award Coordinator in the Office of the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research.
The EMS Research Office provides proposal preparation support and grant administration services for a $95 million per year college research enterprise. College-level research administrators are a vital part of Penn State’s vibrant research community which boasts annual research expenditures exceeding $1.3 billion and ranks among the top 30 public research universities in the nation.
The successful candidates will join a highly respected team of pre-award and post-award professionals in a high-volume, fast-paced, innovative, and service-first environment.
Responsibilities
The Pre-Award Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and submission of compliant proposal packages on behalf of faculty and researchers for their designated college sub-units. This position requires demonstrated experience with the following tasks:
This position will be filled within the Proposal and Award Generalist career field at the Senior Professional level. At the Senior Professional level, the Pre-Award Coordinator is expected to demonstrate mastery of all baseline proposal submission responsibilities and experience with numerous complex proposal submissions and unique sponsor requirements.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Required Certifications:
None
Candidates should demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume deadline-driven environment. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to those with proposal submission experience with Department of Energy (DOE), NASA and/or Department of Defense (DoD) sponsors.
Work Arrangement
The EMS Research Office is supportive of flexible work arrangements aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. The location of these positions is flexible and can be performed remotely within the United States. Standard working hours are in the Eastern time zone.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
