Scope of Position
The Praise and Worship Leader is responsible for planning and leading Christ-centered, Spirit-filled worship that supports the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army Bend Corps. This individual will lead bilingual (English/Spanish) worship services, demonstrating musical excellence, spiritual maturity, and a heart for serving a diverse congregation. The role involves both leadership and active participation in music, coordination with the ministry team, and fostering a worship environment that encourages participation and spiritual growth.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate music for all worship services and special events (Sundays, holidays, corps gatherings, and outreach events).
Select and prepare worship music that reflects biblical truth and cultural diversity suitable for a bilingual congregation.
Lead worship vocally and instrumentally on both guitar and piano.
Recruit, train, and encourage volunteer musicians and vocalists.
Collaborate with corps officers and ministry team in planning worship themes, scripture readings, and service flow.
Provide technical support for worship services as needed (audio/visual setup, sound checks, etc.).
Participate in regular staff or ministry meetings when requested.
Model and promote a lifestyle consistent with Christian faith and The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
Engage with the congregation and local community in a welcoming and relational manner.
