As a Student Trainee, you will enhance services through engagement with clients, support treatment activities, and develop practical skills that complement your academic training. In this role, you will work under supervision to assist with daily program activities, observe clinical practices, participate in group facilitation, and support the treatment process while adhering to program expectations, confidentiality standards, and organizational values.

Key Responsibilities:
· Observe and participate in behavioral health services under appropriate supervision
· Adhere to professional conduct standards, confidentiality laws, and ethical guidelines
· Participate in staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and training sessions as requested
· Assist in identifying client needs, strengths, and areas of concern as part of the treatment process
· Co‑facilitate educational, recreational, or therapeutic groups alongside staff
· Support the admission and orientation process, including assisting with vital signs, safety searches, and specimen collection when applicable
· Monitor client activities and document relevant observations to ensure safety and accountability
· Maintain awareness of precaution protocols and ensure appropriate documentation
· Assist with screening and monitoring detoxification clients to support safety and recovery needs (Adult Programs only)
· Serve as a positive role model and represent the organization professionally
· Participate in staff development activities and contribute to overall program operations
· Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Nursing, or higher‑level academic program as part of internship or practicum eligibility
Additional Qualifications:
· Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to establish rapport with clients and work respectfully with diverse populations
· Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing mental health and substance use treatment
· Ability to follow program policies, procedures, and supervision guidance
· Basic computer proficiency and ability to use electronic documentation systems
Physical Requirements
· Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
· Ability to perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing and documentation
· Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional walking or standing
· Ability to meet the physical demands of a sedentary work environment
