In this role, you will enhance services provided to clients through observation, participation, and supervised involvement in treatment programming. You will assist with client support activities, contribute to identifying client strengths and needs, participate in educational and recreational programming, and gain hands-on experience through job shadowing and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members. Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in supporting clients throughout their treatment experience by providing encouragement, guidance, and positive role modeling
· Co-facilitate educational and recreational groups while helping create a supportive and engaging environment for participants
· Participate in treatment-related activities by helping identify client strengths, needs, and areas of concern
· Observe and monitor client activities, documenting relevant observations and ensuring client accountability
· Support the admissions and orientation process, including obtaining vital signs, conducting safety searches, and collecting urine or lab specimens as appropriate
· Collaborate with treatment teams by attending staff meetings, treatment planning meetings, and training sessions
· Assist with screening and monitoring detoxification clients to support safety and recovery needs within Adult Programs
· Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication regarding client behaviors, interactions, and concerns
· Follow program policies, safety protocols, confidentiality requirements, and ethical standards at all times
· Contribute to the overall success of the program through ongoing learning, participation in staff development activities, and teamwork
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, Nursing program, or higher educational program and eligible for internship placement
· Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance use and mental health treatment
· Understanding of case management principles, rehabilitation methods, and community resources for individuals experiencing mental health challenges
· Basic computer skills and proficiency with common software applications
Additional Qualifications:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with diverse client populations
· Ability to adapt to changing situations while following program policies and procedures
· Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
· Successful completion of background screening, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks
Physical Requirements
· Perform sedentary work involving sitting for the majority of the workday with occasional walking and standing
· Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds
· Frequently use hands, fingers, and arms for typing, writing, and other repetitive movements
· Move about the work environment as needed to support client activities and program operations
· Maintain the physical ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
