Wunan Health & Well-Being Centre is a multi-disciplinary and accredited private medical practice that serves the East Kimberley region. Our team of dedicated and experienced medical practitioners provide high-quality medical care to the local community and to the many visitors to our magnificent region. Conveniently located in the town centre of Kununurra in a brand new purpose-built facility, Wunan Health & Well-Being Centre is proudly owned and operated by Wunan Foundation, an East Kimberley Aboriginal development organisation.
Wunan Health is a social enterprise with 100% of our profits used to support programs that improve primary health care and aim to unlock the potential of Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley.
In most recent years, Wunan Health has expanded services with delivery across headspace Kununurra and KWIC – Kununurra Withdrawal Intervention Centre. And in the near future is aiming towards offering Allied Health services.

The Practice provides an amazingly broad scope of medical and nursing services such as skin checks and procedures, chronic disease management, pre-employment medicals, shared antenatal care, women’s health, men's health, Aboriginal health checks and palliative care support.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to fill either the role of Practice Nurse (RN) or Aboriginal Health Worker or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
The successful applicant must have a current unconditional registration with AHPRA and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse or similar, with General Practice or AMS experience being highly desired.
If you meet the below criteria, we welcome your application:
• Completion of Understanding Vaccines and the National Immunisation Program (mandatory)
• Chronic Disease management experience and understanding of GPCCMPs
• Triage
• Wound management
• Venepuncture, Cannulation and Iron infusions
• Assisting Doctors with surgical procedures e.g. dressing, excisions
• Diagnostic procedures e.g. Blood pressure monitoring , ECG , Spirometry
• Collecting specimens for drugs of abuse
• Understanding of Indigenous Health
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Clear understanding of Practice Management systems
• Provide evidenced based nursing care
• Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
• Ensure patient and staff safety
SELECTION CRITERIA
Your application must include answers to the following questions:
• Have you completed an approved immunisation training program?
• Have you had Practice nursing experience in the past?
• Explain how you think your previous nursing experience will assist you in a Practice Nurse/AHW/AHP position.
• How would you rate your understanding of indigenous health issues?
