The Role
As Practice Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the Practice Manager, Medical Director and Regional Nurse Manager to deliver excellent clinical, operational and patient outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Lead, coach and mentor Practice Nurses, Treatment Room Assistants and Medical Assistants
• Manage team performance, development plans, regular one-on-one discussions and ongoing clinical education
• Coordinate nursing rosters and maintain appropriate coverage and skill mix
• Oversee the daily operation, presentation and efficiency of the treatment room
• Manage clinical equipment, medical supplies, stock levels, maintenance and calibration
• Ensure sterilisation, infection control and clinical procedures meet relevant standards
• Support nursing recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning
• Review treatment room activity, reporting and performance data
• Partner with centre leadership to improve clinical outcomes, operational performance and patient satisfaction
• Support accreditation activities and lead nursing or clinical improvement projects
• Build positive relationships with GPs, allied health professionals and community partners
Clinical Responsibilities
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will continue to provide hands-on patient care, including:
• Health assessments and preventative healthcare
• Chronic disease management plans, team care arrangements and reviews
• Nurse-led clinics delivered in accordance with clinical policies and standing orders
• Patient education, health coaching and ongoing clinical monitoring
• Coordination of care with GPs, allied health professionals and other support teams
• Accurate and compliant clinical documentation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• At least two years’ experience providing direct clinical nursing care
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience
• Strong clinical knowledge and sound professional judgement
• Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
• Confidence managing performance, resolving issues and supporting team development
• A proactive, collaborative and patient-focused approach
• Experience in general practice, chronic disease management, preventative healthcare or health promotion is highly desirable
