Practice Manager – North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic

About the Role
North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic (NPVEC) seeking an experienced, people-focused Practice Manager to lead day-to-day operations of a veterinary hospital while delivering exceptional medical care, an unmatched client experience, and strong business performance. This role partners closely with the Medical Director, Regional Director of Operations, and support teams to create a highly engaged workplace, optimize hospital efficiency, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients and the community. What You’ll DoAs Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the hospital, including:
- Hospital Operations & Leadership
- Partner with the Medical Director to lead hospital operations aligned with organizational standards, medical excellence, and client experience goals
- Serve as a role model and champion of company values, ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care and service
- Identify operational barriers and proactively implement solutions to improve workflow, productivity, and outcomes
- Team Management & Development
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, and, when necessary, discipline or terminate team members
- Create development plans, support ongoing training, and foster career growth for associates
- Build team schedules to ensure appropriate coverage, efficiency, and compliance with labor standards
- Conduct performance reviews, wage planning, and staffing analysis aligned with hospital growth
- Client Experience
- Lead by example in delivering a professional, compassionate, and “unmatched” client experience
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of client concerns
- Oversee phone etiquette standards, online reviews, and client communication practices
- Financial & Performance Management
- Partner in annual budgeting, goal-setting, and hospital planning
- Monitor and improve KPIs including labor, revenue growth, average transaction value, visit growth, production categories, and forward booking
- Manage cost of goods, inventory, pricing, and purchasing compliance
- Review scorecards, financial statements, and performance dashboards regularly
- Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain consistent communication with hospital leadership and support teams
- Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reviews and action planning
- Build strong relationships with internal partners, clients, and the local community
Qualifications
- Preferred: Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in medical, veterinary, or healthcare operations management preferred
- Strong knowledge of human resources practices, scheduling, and employee development
- Experience with sales, marketing, and financial performance management
- Veterinary industry knowledge strongly preferred
- Proven leadership, decision-making, and coaching skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: Up to $110,000

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to an 8-hour shift)
