The Practice Manager oversees the daily operations, business functions, and patient care activities of the OBGYN practice within the UCLA Health Community Clinics. Operating with a high degree of independence, this role is guided by broad organizational goals and objectives. Progress toward these goals is reviewed through ongoing collaboration with the Clinical Director and the Sr. Executive Director.
The Practice Manager provides comprehensive administrative and operational leadership, ensuring efficient clinic workflows, high-quality patient care, and a positive work environment. This includes supervising both front and back office medical staff, coordinating clinical services, and managing the physical space to support safe, effective, and patient-centered operations. While guidelines and references are available, the role requires strong judgment, interpretation, and original problem-solving to address operational challenges and support continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing business operations and patient care functions for the assigned OBGYN clinic.
Providing daily administrative and operational oversight to ensure smooth clinic functioning.
Supervising and supporting front office and back office medical staff.
Coordinating clinical services to optimize patient flow and care delivery.
Managing clinic space, resources, and operational logistics.
Collaborating with leadership to meet organizational goals and enhance clinic performance.
