Job Description

Practice Manager (Full Time) - Greencross Vets West Gosford

We are looking for a full-time Practice Manager to lead our team at Greencross Vets West Gosford.

This role would suit either an experienced Practice Manager or a Senior Veterinary Nurse ready to step into a leadership position. You’ll be someone who is organised, reliable, and people-focused, with a genuine passion for patient care and team wellbeing.

Our clinic has a strong local reputation and a loyal client base. We focus on delivering a high standard of care and ensuring every client and patient has a positive experience.

We are located alongside a Petbarn store, allowing clients convenient access to both veterinary services and retail in one place.

Working with us

We value open communication, teamwork, and creating a supportive environment where people feel comfortable contributing and developing.

Our approach is team-based. Clients are supported by a group of vets and nurses, rather than a single point of contact. Nurses are actively involved in patient care, client communication, and preventative health.

The team culture is collaborative and respectful. Feedback is encouraged, and there is a strong focus on continuous improvement without unnecessary pressure or hierarchy.

Location

West Gosford offers a balanced lifestyle on the Central Coast. You’ll have access to beaches, bushland, and outdoor activities, while still being within easy reach of Sydney and Newcastle. It suits people looking for a more relaxed pace without losing access to city opportunities.

About the role

This is a hands-on position combining leadership and clinical involvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily clinic operations (rostering, stock, workflow, client records)
  • Leading and supporting the team
  • Maintaining a positive and productive team environment
  • Monitoring performance and supporting clinic growth
  • Contributing to local marketing initiatives
  • Providing nursing support, mentoring, and training when needed

About you

You will have:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, or equivalent experience
  • Experience as a Practice Manager or a Senior Nurse with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong clinical knowledge and confidence in animal handling
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to lead a team and manage competing priorities
  • A focus on patient care, client experience, and team wellbeing

Why Greencross

Greencross offers a structured and supportive environment with opportunities to develop your career.

Benefits include:

  • Ongoing continuing education and access to training programs
  • Annual Greencross conference with clinical and leadership streams
  • Career progression opportunities across a national network
  • Access to a broad network of vets and nurses
  • Staff discounts on veterinary services and products, including Royal Canin
  • Petbarn retail discounts
  • Access to Fitness Passport
  • Access to Pounce (discounts across retail, travel, fuel and more)
  • Mental health and wellbeing support programs, including confidential counselling
  • A genuine focus on work/life balance
