Greencross Vets Ferntree Gully is a close‑knit, community‑focused clinic with a wonderfully loyal client base, and we’re looking for a Part‑Time Practice Manager to help lead our team into the next chapter.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Veterinary Nurse ready to take the next step into leadership, or an experienced Practice Manager seeking a supportive, well‑established environment. You’ll be a calm, dependable presence with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for people and animals alike.

We pride ourselves on going the extra mile to ensure every pet parent and patient has the best possible experience when visiting our clinic.

Most conveniently, we are a co‑located clinic on‑site with a Petbarn retail store, making it easy for clients to meet all their pet care needs under the one roof.

About Our Clinic

Our Ferntree Gully clinic is well equipped and designed to support excellent patient care, featuring:

  • Two spacious consultation rooms
  • Surgical theatre
  • X‑ray and ultrasound
  • Separate cat and dog wards

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you’ll take a hands‑on leadership role, balancing operational management with clinical involvement. You will occasionally participate in nursing duties, so excellent animal handling skills and strong veterinary nursing knowledge are essential.

Your role will include:

  • Managing day‑to‑day clinic operations, including:
    • Rostering
    • Stock management
    • People leadership
    • Client records
  • Leading and developing the team to deliver outstanding client experience and patient care
  • Building a positive, supportive team culture
  • Monitoring performance and ensuring monthly KPIs are achieved
  • Driving business growth through local marketing initiatives
  • Providing nursing support, training, and mentoring as required

This role suits both a first‑time Practice Manager or an experienced leader looking to work in a well‑supported, community‑focused clinic.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience as a Practice Manager or Senior Veterinary Nurse with leadership responsibilities
  • Excellent animal handling and solid clinical knowledge
  • Strong communication, organisation, and people‑management skills
  • A genuine passion for patients, clients, and team wellbeing
  • Good business insight and attention to detail
