Key Health Medical Centres is seeking an experienced and people-focused Practice Manager to join our team in St Leonards.

This is a key leadership role for someone who knows medical practice operations, enjoys developing people, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional experience for both patients and clinicians.

You’ll work closely with the Group Practice Manager, Senior Doctors, and Directors to ensure the clinic runs smoothly, efficiently, and to a high standard.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the practice, leading the reception and nursing teams while supporting doctors, specialists, registrars, and allied health professionals.

You’ll be hands-on, visible, and responsible for creating a positive team environment while ensuring the practice meets its operational, compliance, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the reception and nursing teams
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and support new team members
  • Oversee daily reception and clinic operations
  • Coordinate the induction of doctors, registrars
  • Act as the key point of contact for staff and patient queries and complaints
  • Monitor and drive practice KPIs and business performance
  • Manage staff rostering to ensure appropriate clinic coverage
  • Review and improve systems and processes across the practice
  • Maintain high standards of patient service and clinical support
  • Manage risk, confidentiality, and practice compliance requirements
  • Oversee medical software and electronic systems
  • Complete banking reconciliations and accounts reporting
  • Work closely with the Group Practice Manager and Senior Doctors on practice performance and improvement

About You

You’re an experienced medical practice professional who enjoys leading people and keeping busy practices running smoothly.

You’ll bring:

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience as a Senior Medical Receptionist
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical practice operations
  • Experience with Best Practice or similar medical software
  • Good understanding of Medicare, private health, billing, and out-of-pocket fees
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems quickly
  • A patient-first approach with strong customer service skills
  • Confidence working with doctors, clinical teams, patients, and external stakeholders
