Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Practice Manager at Hibberson Street Medical Centre in Gungahlin The Practice Manager will report to an experienced and successful Regional Operations Manager and work alongside a team of dedicated Practice Managers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient operation and growth of the centre, while providing exceptional care to patients and maintaining a positive working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage rosters and timesheets, including shift reallocation and leave planning.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance, including budgeting, billing, and debt collections.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing patient concerns and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care and effective communication.
  • Oversee facilities management, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a pristine presentation.
  • Lead accreditation compliance and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Create a positive team environment, valuing contributions and leading by example.
  • Develop and implement marketing and growth strategies to attract more patients and expand the medical centre’s reach.
  • Identify business opportunities, build referral networks, and optimize patient engagement for sustainable growth.

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience as a Practice Manager in a general practice setting
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers and claiming processes.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Best Practice
  • Ability to inspire, empower, and create a positive team environment
  • Experience in growing a medical practice through marketing strategies and patient acquisition.
  • Knowledge of MBS items, GP management, and optimizing clinic operations for growth.
