About the Role:

The Practice Coordinator has program coordination responsibilities.The Coordinator arranges for the provision of program-related care under the supervision of the physician.The Practice Coordinator will be responsible for providing the necessarysupport structure to encourage a patient-centric care environment, to include customer service functions such as telephone service, appointment and/or surgery scheduling, new patient coordination, authorizations and referral processes, and back office functionality.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Associates Degree.

  • Minimum Experience: An Associates Degree with two (2) yrs of medical office, business office or related office exp is required. In lieu of degree, candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered (a min of four (4) yrs related experience).

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the provision of program-related care for patients under the supervision of the physician.

  • Serves as primary point of contact to patients, their families/representatives, outside agencies, physicians, vendors, and referral sources.

  • Coordinates the process a nephrology or neurology patient will go through as a patient of NGPG.

  • Responsible for overseeing the coordination of outgoing and incoming referrals and work queues. When needed assess for appropriateness and re-directing of referrals. If needed, functions in overseeing surgery scheduling (to include pre-cert, communicating with patients regarding scheduling and preop instructions, actively work with OR staff for block drop, etc.

  • Coordinates clinical aspects in tandem with the Practice Manager(s), Physician(s), and Advanced Practitioner(s) - providing support for clinical staff and clinic patients to ensure workflow barriers are reduced or eliminated for smooth clinic operations.

  • Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, responsible for clinical inventory and the ordering and management of all clinical supplies necessary for daily clinic operation.

  • Monitors patient flow and the initiation process for establishing patient information, assisting as needed to achieve a smooth efficient operation

  • Oversight to ensure all precertification for all procedures, prior authorizations, and in-basket request are completed and processed according to NGPG policy.
