Supplemental information

Job Duties:

  • Make rounds, assessing patients’ condition with appropriate follow-up. Make rounds with physicians, accurately transcribing and implementing orders. Assist with physical exams and other procedures as needed.
  • Preparation, administration, and documentation of all medications, treatments, and IV therapy as ordered.
  • Documentation of various reports, nurses’ notes/medical records as required and necessary.
  • Initiate First Aid/CPR in emergencies.
  • Performs all other related duties as required in order to maintain the smooth operation of the Nursing Services Department and Villa Feliciana Medical Complex.

Position-Specific Details:

Location: This vacancy is located in the Nursing Department of LDH/OAAS/Villa Feliciana Medical Complex, Jackson, Louisiana.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Detail to Special Duty

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Licensed Practical Nurse 1, 2, or 3

Work Schedule: 12 hours with rotating weekends. The shifts are 5:45 am - 6:15 pm or 5:45 pm - 6:15 am.

Compensation: The Practical Nurse Licensed 1 offers a Special Entrance Rate of $19.48 hourly, along with premium pay of up to $15.00 per hour worked. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

All candidates for hire must undergo drug screening and a background check.
