BYD Europe BV located in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. BYD Europe BV offers a full line of BYD electric vehicles, including all-electric cars, all-electric buses, and all-electric forklift trucks.

The PR Specialist will be an integral part of the BYD Netherlands marketing team as the company continues to go from strength to strength, in the country and on the global stage. The position will involve liaising with all types of media.

The Role

• Be primary media contact for BYD Netherlands, dealing with proactive and reactive management of enquiries

• Work seamlessly with retained PR agency, to manage coordinated communications plan, across news, events, media relations and budgets

• Create engaging written and visual content and Netherlands specific media assets, including press releases, press packs, spec sheets, media briefings, awards submissions, executive and product photography and video

• Lead the content and management of country media site

• Attend, create and host national media events

• Management of key Press Office activities, such as media monitoring /measurement/reporting, liaison with key colleagues in sales/marketing/customer experience, plus European and HQ teams

• Liaison with demo fleet third party and proactive management of national Press parc

• Stay abreast of latest market specific and global automotive, business and technology trends and stories

• Awareness of digital PR and social media platforms and tools would be advantageous

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• 2 years+ PR and/or journalism experience required. Automotive experience welcomed

• A passionate self-starter, with a passion for the auto and technology industries

• Drive, with a flexible and proactive outlook. Plus, the capability to keep pace with the ambitions of the company

• Excellent communications skills and ability to create compelling content and news stories

• Able to work independently, under pressure and to limited timescales

• Strong team player

• Flawless multi-tasking and organization skills

• Ability to travel in Netherlands and overseas, including weekends if necessary

• Must hold current driving license
