Our portfolio includes: Trustbridge Design & Manufacturing : AI-powered supplier matching and design-for-manufacturability services Calisade Asset Management : a research-first, multi-asset investment platform Role Overview We're hiring a part-time PR intern to build Vulcury's media presence in Kansas City and the Midwest. The role centers on earned media : pitching journalists, securing coverage, and building lasting press relationships. Social media amplifies the coverage you earn. Your regional focus is manufacturing, logistics, and Midwest business and trade press . You'll lead outreach for Trustbridge Design & Manufacturing and support national campaigns across the portfolio. You'll work directly with leadership. This is a hands-on media relations apprenticeship, not a content-scheduling role. Key Responsibilities Media Relations & Press Outreach (primary focus) Map Kansas City and Midwest journalists covering manufacturing, supply chain, AI, and startups (for example, Kansas City Business Journal , Startland News , and regional trade outlets). Write targeted pitch emails and follow up directly with reporters. Draft press releases and media briefs. Maintain the press contact database and track coverage. Trade Press & Thought Leadership Identify manufacturing and industrial trade publications. Pitch contributed articles and expert commentary. Track editorial calendars and deadlines. Awards & Recognition Monitor Midwest and manufacturing-sector awards and innovation lists. Draft submissions and maintain the pipeline. Social Media Amplification Turn earned coverage and leadership insights into LinkedIn and X posts. Track performance and propose improvements. What We're Looking For Required: Hands-on media relations experience in which you pitched journalists yourself. At least one earned placement you secured or directly contributed to. Sharp, persuasive, well-structured writing. Availability for 15–20 hours/week for the full 12 weeks, starting- Immediate joiner. Nice to have: Existing contacts in Kansas City business or trade media. Experience with Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater, or a PR CRM. Interest in manufacturing, AI, or venture building. Please note: This role is about earning coverage from outside media. Experience limited to owned channels (social media management, SEO, content calendars) or newsroom reporting will not meet the core requirement on its own.
