Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Processes optimization and variations management

  • Work with process engineers to identify the potential bottlenecks and risks of processes, and then coordinate teams to make improvements.
  • Use process mapping tools and techniques to document existing processes and identify opportunities for optimization of products. Continuously seek to enhance process capabilities and reduce process variation.

Line readiness review

  • Join Regular review with engineer team and monitor the progress
  • Perform Line readiness review before gating review and tracking the quality issues during NPI, make sure every issue is closed on time
  • Join gating review to give quality conclusion and highlight risks
  • Work with engineering team to finish PFMEA
  • Training the QCs with NPI quality issues
  • Work with engineering team to set SPC check point for new product
  • Work with engineering team to finish inspection instruction for new product

Quality Planning and Control

  • Work with DA and engineering team to develop and implement quality plans for new product introductions or process changes. This involves defining quality objectives, setting inspection and testing points, and establishing acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor process performance using statistical process control (SPC) techniques. Analyze process data to detect trends, deviations, and potential quality issues. Take proactive measures to correct and prevent process drifts.

In-line quality control/improvement

  • Perform Process Audit
  • Solve production line quality issues on time, coordinate related team to do deep analysis for quality issues if necessary
  • Lead Critical Quality issue, and make sure the quality issues are solved on time
  • Set up quality improvement team, lead the team to do continual improvement on production line
  • Regularly review SPC data and follow up the actions
  • Training the QCs with in-line quality issues, RMAs, customer complaint and instructions
  • Perform change control

Product Quality Assurance

  • Do training to IPQC and FQC, and guide IPQC and FQC to conduct product inspections and tests at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. This includes incoming inspection of raw materials, in - process inspection, and final product inspection.
  • Investigate and resolve product quality issues. Use root cause analysis techniques to identify the underlying causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Documentation and Record

  • Maintain detailed documentation of process specifications, quality procedures, inspection reports, and test results. Ensure that all quality - related records are accurate, complete, and easily accessible for traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit quality reports to management and other stakeholders. These reports may include key performance indicators (KPIs), quality trends, and summary of quality - related activities and achievements.

Training and Awareness

  • Provide training to employees on quality concepts, procedures, and tools. Promote a quality - first culture within the organization by raising awareness of the importance of quality in achieving business goals.
  • Collaborate with human resources and other departments to develop quality - related training programs and materials. Ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs in a quality - conscious manner.

Customer quality improvement

  • Provide data/information customer requested
  • Working CQE to solve customer complaint
  • Perform Pre-audit and make sure findings close before customer audit
  • Working with CQE to finish 8D report
  • Action management/follow up for customer audit findings

Others

  • Projects focus on quality improvement
  • Other jobs allocated by quality manager/director

Human Resources / Administrative

  • An ESGP is co-developed and pursued.
  • Department information systems, records, reports and metrics are accurate and generated on time
  • Company policy is followed regarding all safety, environmental, quality and ergonomic requirements.
  • Company Technology Control Plan, IP protection and Export Compliance requirements are understood and properly followed.
  • Relevant SOX, IT and Quality procedures are understood and properly executed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a quality work environment.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with others.
  • Adapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.
  • A high standard of ethics, professionalism, competency, and quality is established and maintained.
  • Role model for Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction and Business Results.

Special Assignments

  • Support special projects as required.
  • Report on projects and make recommendations to upper Management.

Qualification & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor or above
  • 5 years+ in line quality control experience
  • Experience with opto-electronics manufacturing is a plus
  • Be familiar with customer complaint handling process and can coordinate customer complaint FA.
  • Be able to lead/push to a team to accomplish the improvement project.
  • Be familiar with ISO9000, TL9000, can lead the team to perform
  • internal audit and chase the actions; internal auditor qualification is preferred
  • Experience on failure analysis
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with networked PC based computer systems

Skills & Other Requirements

  • Must be proficient in Quality control tools: SPC, FMEA,QC 7 tools, GR&R
  • Strong communication skills which need to coordinate with engineering/production team and push the forward to finish the target
  • Strong quality sense, stand for customer to control the line quality
  • Skilled at both spoken and written English,can communication with foreign colleagues smoothly
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities
  • Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment
  • Handle special assignments promptly and professionally
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency
