Get in the driver's seat
As a Powertrain Thermal Systems Simulation Engineer, you will develop, validate and maintain accurate 1D thermal and hydraulic models of powertrain systems and components. You will support vehicle performance development, XiL applications and thermal management optimisation through advanced simulation methodologies.
Working across powertrain, testing and vehicle teams, you will develop robust GT-Suite and MATLAB/Simulink models and ensure reliable predictions and strong correlation between simulations and experimental tests.

Where you’ll make an impact
Develop, validate and maintain accurate 1D thermal and hydraulic models of powertrain components
Develop and maintain fast-running and real-time thermal models for vehicle development and XiL applications
Advance thermal modelling knowledge of ICEs, gearboxes, electric motors and batteries
Utilize GT-Suite and MATLAB/Simulink for thermal analysis and model development
Collaborate with testing teams to define instrumentation, sensors and validation plans
Participate in experimental testing and use results to refine models
Assess simulation results and recommend technical solutions to improve thermal performance and reliability
Prepare and present technical reports highlighting simulation findings and engineering recommendations
What are your core components
2-5 years of experience in thermal simulation, powertrain engineering and virtual validation
Proven expertise in GT-Suite and MATLAB/Simulink
Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and thermodynamics
Knowledge of cooling circuits, lubrication systems and thermal management
Understanding of internal combustion engines, gearboxes, electric motors, batteries, HVAC and refrigerant circuits
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments
Commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence
Ability to mentor and support junior engineers

Salary range: €37 500 – €62 500 gross per year (depending on experience)
