Powertrain Test Technician

Forest Lake, MN | Contract | $26-29/hr

Konik is partnering with an engineering and manufacturing firm seeking a hands-on Powertrain Test Technician to support the development and validation of advanced off-road vehicle systems. This role combines mechanical teardown and rebuild work with testing, instrumentation, and data analysis in a fast-paced product development environment.

Powertrain Test Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed teardown, inspection, and documentation of engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components
• Build, assemble, and prepare powertrain systems for testing
• Install sensors, wiring, and data acquisition equipment on engines and vehicle systems to support testing
• Collect, validate, and analyze test data to support engineering decisions
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during testing
• Develop, document, and improve test procedures and processes
  
  

Powertrain Test Technician Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with small engines, poertrain systems, or powersports equipment, or relevant technical degree
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in teardown, assembly, and diagnostics
• Solid understanding of internal combustion engines, CVTs, and drivetrain systems
• Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and schematic reading
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems or test instrumentation preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Experience with fabrication, machining, or welding is beneficial
