Our mission is to shape the next generation of vehicle architectures, digital technologies and intelligent systems for global markets. We integrate European customer and regulatory requirements early in the development process and support multiple brands within the Geely portfolio, including Zeekr, Lynk & Co and Geely. With nearly two decades of engineering experience in Europe, we continue to build smart, sustainable and user‑centric mobility solutions.

Are you passionate about powertrain development, emissions compliance, and creating vehicles that meet European customer expectations? We are now looking for a Powertrain Emission & Regional Adaptation Engineer to join our team and play a key role in adapting and optimizing powertrain systems for the European market. In this role, you will work closely with suppliers and global engineering teams to ensure our vehicles meet regional requirements while delivering outstanding drivability, performance, and efficiency. This role is based in Frankfurt, Germany, with employment under LTIC (Lotus Tech Innovation Centre).

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage large-scale emission testing and development projects together with external suppliers
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute vehicle testing activities, including summer and winter test programs across Europe
  • Evaluate and optimize vehicle drivability, performance, fuel economy, and overall powertrain behaviour on public roads and proving grounds
  • Support vehicle preparation for testing, including data acquisition setup, sensor installation, software flashing, and troubleshooting activities
  • Analyze test results and create technical reports, development summaries, and root cause investigations
  • Perform local calibration, tuning, verification, and validation of powertrain functions to meet European market needs
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams in Europe and China to translate regional customer expectations and driving characteristics into technical requirements
  • Drive issue resolution and support continuous improvement activities throughout the development process

Who You Are:

  • You hold a Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Automotive Engineering or a related technical field
  • You have at least 5 years of experience working with ICE propulsion systems, emissions development, calibration, or powertrain engineering within the automotive industry
  • You have a strong understanding of European customer expectations, driving behaviours, and regulatory requirements
  • You are experienced in emission testing, vehicle evaluation, and powertrain development activities
  • You have hands-on experience with engineering and calibration tools such as ETAS INCA, Vector toolchains, data loggers, and vehicle diagnostics systems
  • You are fluent in English and comfortable working in a global and multicultural environment
  • You have a genuine interest in vehicles and enjoy a practical, hands-on approach to engineering challenges
  • You are analytical, proactive, and organized, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • You hold a valid Category B driver's license; additional driving certifications or proving ground experience are considered an advantage
  • You are open to regular travel within Europe and internationally
