UNH PowerPlay Interactive Development (PowerPlay) is a professional applied theatre company, founded in 2012. PowerPlay is a business of the University of New Hampshire that is housed within the UNH Department of Theatre and Dance and under the direct supervision of the PowerPlay Artistic/Executive Director. The company focuses on individual, group, and institutional development, creating and executing interactive theatre programming designed to engage community and/or generate dialogue on a variety of educational and social topics. Primarily outward facing, PowerPlay works with clients throughout the US and Canada, primarily with academic and scientific institutions and in the medical field.

Under the guidance of the UNH PowerPlay Artistic/Executive Director, the PowerPlay Operations Manager will work independently and be responsible for administering all aspects of the PowerPlay business while functioning within the communication structure and operation guidelines/standards of the University of New Hampshire and the UNH Department of Theatre and Dance. The PowerPlay Operations Manager’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, overseeing and executing all administrative components of this professional applied theatre company including contracting, billing, logistics and other activities related to grant-funded projects. Responsibilities would also include some work related to marketing, and other duties as assigned by the Artistic/Executive Director.

Job Duties:

PROJECT ADMINISTRATION (70%)

  • Contracting actors and others hired for PowerPLAY projects.

  • Overseeing all payments and billing.

  • Establishing and overseeing project budgets.

  • Duties as assigned for administrative needs related to federal or other grants.

  • Other administrative needs required by specific projects.

LOGISTICS (20%)

  • Point of contact with clients for on-location performance needs.

  • Organizing travel arrangements and itineraries for off campus engagements.

  • Other logistical needs required by on-location performances.

MARKETING (10%)

  • Oversee and maintain PowerPLAY website.

  • Occasional meetings with potential clients.

  • Attend occasional marketing related functions.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Workday.

  • Ability to navigate the university and grant funded projects for payments and billing.

  • Ability to work with software related to UNH websites.

  • Basic accounting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to complete all duties and to problem solve while working largely independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering grant funded projects.

  • A working knowledge of interactive theatre.

Compensation Pay Range:

$25 per hour
