Due to the growth of our HVDC business, we are looking for a self-motivated service engineer in power transformers able to manage site activities and to support/participate in commissioning of Power Transformers.

Your Mission: You will be responsible to lead technical portion of Power Transformers site installation and commissioning, to support customers located in different countries and to be part of a community of experts able to support global customers on high technology equipment.

The HVDC sites are in Europe as well as in Asia and Dubai for the platform construction. The position holder reports to the Field Engineer/ Supervisor Team Leader.

This position implies functional leadership as an IC (Individual Contributor) without direct reports.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities:

1. EHS & Quality Oversight

  • Implement, monitor, record, and report EHS performance in line with GEV standards, in coordination with site construction teams.
  • Responsible for the preparation, creation and issue of site documentation like RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement), NCR’s (Non-conformance Report) and TQ’s (Technical Queries) in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that on-site erection & commissioning records, reports and quality documentation are created, maintained, and circulated in accordance with GEV quality plans.

2. Construction Planning & Coordination

  • Supervise all activities for the Installation & Testing at site: Unloading, Erection, oil filtration, cabling and testing.
  • Supervise daily activities of technicians, electricians, and field crews working on power transformers and related equipment.
  • Manage preparations for site activities in coordination with our project and site teams and the transformer factory.
  • Coordinate outage schedules, manpower, equipment, tools, and materials to support project execution
  • Verify quality of workmanship and ensure adherence to specifications, drawings, and technical procedures.
  • Interface with customers, engineers, project managers, vendors, and internal departments to support project and maintenance objectives

3. Design & Data Readiness

  • Ensure together with the Project Team that the required “Good for Construction” drawings are available
  • Ensure that all data to prepare the site documentation is available

4. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor, record, and report contractor work progress together with site construction teams.
  • Publish progress reports and provide key inputs for monthly project reports to the Site Management Team

5. Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to construction and commissioning activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, reliability, and quality.

Your Profile:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification with 5–10 years of experience, or equivalent background in Power Transformer Installation & Testing
  • Site Management & Field Service experience, with ability to understand electrical schematics and resource scheduling and forecasting experience
  • Strong health and safety mindset aligned with international standards, with the ability to identify and stop unsafe work.
  • Solid knowledge of international construction standards, environmental legislation, and civil/electrical construction specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to provide clear verbal and written reporting (English required; German a plus).
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to recommend and approve corrective actions.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Europe or globally, like to Dubai, Singapore or Indonesia for project site activities.
