Job Description

We are working closely with a leading semi-state organisation to recruit a Power Systems Engineer to join their Network Development team. This is a unique opportunity to support the development of Ireland’s electricity network, enabling renewable integration and electrification initiatives. The role is Dublin-based with hybrid working available. The successful candidate will bring strong power systems analysis experience and a solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct power system analysis across LV, MV, 38kV and 110kV networks
• Perform load flow and network studies using tools such as PSS, Sincal or Synergi
• Assess impacts of renewables, demand growth, and new connections
• Develop optimal solutions for network reinforcement and customer connections
• Prepare technical reports, investment appraisals, and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support development of planning standards, policies, and tools
• Contribute to innovation projects within network planning

Requirements

• Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience in power systems or network planning
• Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems
• Experience with power system modelling software
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Full clean driving licence
