Parsons is looking for an experienced Power Supply Expert to deliver innovative and reliable traction power solutions for a landmark high speed rail project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art high speed rail systems that set new benchmarks in efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. This role requires extensive experience in rail projects, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the UAE or GCC region.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and Implementation: Manage and review the design and implementation of traction power systems for high-speed rail operations, including substations, rectifier-transformer units, and distribution systems.

  • System Analysis: Manage and review load flow studies, short circuit analyses, and harmonic studies to ensure optimal power distribution and system reliability under varying operational conditions.

  • Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including rail system engineers, civil designers, and operations experts, to deliver seamless and integrated power solutions tailored to metro needs.

  • Upgrades and Optimization: Evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades to support increased capacity, improved headways, and enhanced energy efficiency.

  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs and implementations comply with international HSR safety standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and local regulatory requirements.

  • Research and Innovation: Stay ahead of industry advancements, leveraging emerging technologies to design resilient and sustainable traction power systems.

  • Testing and Commissioning: Oversee system validation, testing, and commissioning to guarantee safe and reliable operation, including SCADA integration and performance tuning.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence.

  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process enhancements to streamline delivery and improve system performance.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, Masters preferred.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in management of design and/or construction of rail projects, preferably HSR.

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred.

  • Proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools and software.

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • GCC experience is preferred.

  • Experience on large Rail Infrastructure program is a must, preferably HSR.

  • Must have experience in Client Interfacing roles or a Consultancy role.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal + external correspondence; Ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders as required by the client.

  • Understanding of the delivery process and the functions inherent to construction management of large-scale projects.

  • Ability to interface with all levels with project team, client, contractors and others.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
