About the Role:

Under limited supervision, the Advanced SharePoint & Power Platform Administrator manages and optimizes the agency’s Microsoft 365 environment with emphasis on SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Power BI. This role enhances business intelligence, automation, and collaboration across the agency. The Administrator ensures system performance, security compliance, solution governance, and provides advanced technical support while contributing to agency-wide technology initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support SharePoint Online, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse), Power BI, and related Microsoft 365 services.
  • Monitor, audit, and optimize environments to identify improvements in performance, governance, security, and compliance.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to customers, vendors, and OT staff; research and configure new features, approved integrations, and third-party plugins.
  • Design, enhance, and troubleshoot advanced Power Platform solutions, including Dataverse architectures, automated workflows, custom connectors, and ALM-supported deployments.
  • Respond to incidents and service request tickets within OT SLA requirements; provide Tier II/III support.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 admin centers for incidents, issues, advisories, and service updates.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation, governance materials, administrative procedures, and project communication.
  • Perform other duties as required to support agency goals and operational needs.

Examples of duties

  • A bachelor’s degree and experience in automated information systems, communication systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Power Platform solution development and administration
  • Working knowledge of Power BI solution administration
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint administration
  • Conceptual understanding of networking, client-server principles, and basic wide area network principles
  • Knowledge of configuration, analysis, testing, debugging, maintenance, scripting and security techniques

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including O365, Azure, SharePoint, Power Platform, and Power BI.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in: SharePoint Online administration, Power BI administration, and Power Platform administration and solution development.
  • Experience developing advanced Power Platform solutions (Dataverse, custom connectors, enterprise workflows, ALM, environment strategy).
  • Experience with enterprise-level governance, security, and compliance in M365.

Supplemental information

  • This position will require a minimal amount of in-state travel.
  • Some after-hours and weekend work may be required, including the employee carrying an agency-issued cell phone for occasional after-hours support.
