This transformation is reshaping market participants, creating new opportunities, and introducing new participation dynamics. bp’s European APac Power & Carbon (EAPC) Trading business sits at the forefront of bp’s group strategy. Originating from bp’s Trading & Shipping segment, its strategic goal is to build a sustainable, profitable, and well-balanced power and carbon portfolio across our target markets.
At the forefront of this is the Australian market. The Power Originator role in Melbourne is a key position as the bench looks to continue to deliver on its strategic objectives. The role will report to the regional Power Origination Lead and be an instrumental part of the team that spans power and carbon activity sets. The individual will be accountable for identifying and delivering commercial opportunities in the power sector whilst focusing across both generation and load. This will involve market engagement, prospecting potential clients (e.g., power generators, commercial & industrial consumers, other power marketers, bp affiliates etc.), structuring and negotiating deals, and building and maintaining customer relationships while operating in a compliant manner. This role will have clear pnl and delivery expectations across each of the defined performance elements.
