The Power Generation Team at SMUD is seeking a motivated and curious College Intern to join the Acquire to Retire (ATR) S/4HANA Transformation team. In this primarily in-person role, you will help support the business processes and technologies that manage the entire lifecycle of SMUD’s power generation assets; from acquiring and maintaining them to eventually retiring them. These assets are key to keeping the lights on for our customers.
As an intern, you will assist the ATR workstream leaders and the System Integrator with important project activities. Your duties may include notetaking in meetings, updating project documents, gathering and organizing data, participating in testing new systems and processes, helping with data cleanup, process mapping, supporting users in workshops, and assisting with training. You may also help with troubleshooting issues and offer fresh ideas for improving how we manage our assets.
Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in information technology, engineering, business, or a related major (all STEM majors are welcome). Strong communication and customer service skills are important, as you’ll work with a variety of business users and team members. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key to your success.
This internship offers you the chance to learn first-hand how large technology projects are managed at a major public utility, gain practical business and IT experience, and work as part of a team in a dynamic, real-world setting.
COVER LETTER REQUIREMENT: Please tell us what excites you most about working as a Power Generation Tech Analyst Intern supporting our S/4HANA upgrade project and describe how this opportunity aligns with your career goals. You can also share an example of a process improvement you have proactively identified and implemented in your schoolwork, part-time job, club, or personal life.
Failure to provide a cover letter could preclude a candidate from moving forward in the selection process.
This position is hybrid at least two days a week (not Mondays or Fridays).
